Dancehall Racketeers...Tamworth '84

A rare photo of the Racketeers busking in Peel St. Tamworth ,1984....Peter Baylor,Ian Hayes,bass, Ed Colbourne, Rick Dempster, Me and Donal on twin fiddles...I think that year we got 3rd prize in the busking comp....we were beaten by a bloke with a singing chook and a musical saw virtuoso from the backblocks.....justly so!

This photo was taken some years back at the Caulfield RSL,when I had a little jazz band in there...I spent time playing music with Mr Ade Monsborough,one of Australia's greatest jazz musicians...He played a lot of swing violin for me, a side of him that many people would not be aware of... he's one of the best jazz fiddlers I've ever heard....He taught me so much about music ...and this country...thanks Ade

Fred's Lounge,Mamou,1989

Me and Lorna with the famous Fred,proprietor of Fred's Lounge,hot cajun music spot in Mamou Louisiana,1989.....the music starts at 9.00am on Sat. morning,live band and radio broadcast...we won the bottle of HOT louisiana cajun sauce for coming the longest distance to the bar....I was stopped at Melb. airport by customs for bringing in a dangerous substance....that's how hot that sauce was!
